Dallas (Nov. 16, 2023) — Energy Transfer LP has entered into a non-binding Heads of Agreement (HOA) with TotalEnergies related to term crude oil offtake from its proposed Blue Marlin Offshore Port for 4 million barrels per month. The HOA is subject to the negotiation and execution of definitive agreements and the satisfaction of other conditions, including Energy Transfer taking a final investment decision.

The Baker Hughes United States rig count is up three from last week to 625 with oil rigs up five to 505, gas rigs down one to 116 and miscellaneous rigs down one to four.

The U.S. rig count is down 159 rigs from last year's count of 784 with oil rigs down 122, gas rigs down 39 and miscellaneous up two.

The U.S. offshore rig count is unchanged at 21, up three year-over-year.

Baker Hughes Canada Rig Count Down 5 to 192

The Canada rig count is down five from last week to 192, with oil rigs down two to 122, and gas rigs down three to 70.

During the latest mid-month period, prices at Mont Belvieu, Texas, decreased as we head into winter. The posted prices decreased 6.834 cents/gal, from October mid-month to November mid-month, and the spot prices decreased 7.25 cents. Conway, Kan., postings decreased 8.833 cents/gal, and spots decreased 7.625 cents over the month.

Canada's primary underground propane inventories increased by 1.56% in November, according to the Canada Energy Regulator. The total represented a month-to-month increase of 27.9 Mcm. Compared to a year earlier, stocks were lower, with 73.7 Mcm, or 3.89%, less product on hand.

Dallas (Nov. 3, 2023) — Energy Transfer LP announced the completion of its previously announced merger with Crestwood Equity Partners LP. The merger was approved by Crestwood unitholders at its special meeting of unitholders held on Oct. 30, 2023. Effective with the opening of the market on Nov. 3, 2023, Crestwood’s common units and preferred units ceased trading on the New York Stock Exchange.

Houston (Nov. 8, 2023) — Stuart Steel Protection (SSP) has agreed to acquire the assets of Colorado-based energy manufacturing supplier Northwestern Cathodic (NWCAT) in a move that will double the company's workforce and geographic scope.

NWCAT specializes in providing cathodic protection materials and services for utilities, propane, onshore oilfield production equipment, vessels and tanks with locations in Grand Junction, Colorado, and Greenville, South Carolina.

In its monthly update to its Winter Fuels Outlook, EIA expects that winter heating prices for U.S. households will stay flat or decrease this season, dependent on the households’ regions and the main fuels they use for heating.

NATIONAL — The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) expects global liquid fuels production to increase by 1 million barrels per day next year. EIA expects OPEC+ production cuts will remain in place through the end of 2024 and offset non-OPEC production growth. EIA expects a slight decline in global oil inventories in early 2024.
