During the latest mid-month period, prices at Mont Belvieu, Texas, increased as we hit early fall. The posted prices increased 15.417 cents/gal, from August mid-month to September mid-month, and the spot prices increased 15.5 cents. Conway, Kan., postings increased 13.2 cents/gal, and spots increased 14 cents over the month.
Mont Belvieu Postings
The Mont Belvieu mid-August posted price was 71.547 cents/gal. The next week the price increased 1.917 cents to 73.464 cents, followed by a 3.916-cent increase to 77.38 cents the next week. Prices then increased 4.834 cents to land at 82.214 the first week of September. At mid-month, postings increased another 4.75 cents to land at 86.964 cents/gal. Compared to the same time in September 2022, the September 2023 prices were 31.125 cents lower.
Conway Postings
The Conway mid-August posted price was 68.748 cents/gal. The next week the price increased by 0.65 cents to 69.398 cents, followed by a 3.15-cent increase to 72.548 cents the next week. Prices then increased 6.4 cents to land at 78.948 the first week of September. At mid-month, postings increased another 3 cents to land at 81.948 cents/gal. Compared to the same time in September 2022, the September 2023 prices were 25.75 cents lower.
Mont Belvieu Spots
Mont Belvieu spot propane opened the mid-August period at 62 cents/gal. The next week the price rose by 2.5 cents to 64.5 cents, followed by a 3-cent increase to 67.5 cents the next week. Prices then increased 5.25 cents to land at 72.75 the first week of September. At mid-month, they rose another 4.75 cents to land at 77.5 cents/gal. Compared to the same time in September 2022, the September 2023 prices were 30.75 cents lower.
Conway Spots
Conway spots opened the mid-August period at 63.25 cents/gal. The next week the price rose 0.75 cents to 64 cents, followed by a 2.625-cent increase to 66.625 cents the next week. Prices then increased 6.375 cents to land at 73 the first week of September. At mid-month, they rose another 4.25 cents to land at 77.25 cents/gal. Compared to the same time in September 2022, the September 2023 prices were 26.75 cents lower.
