During the latest mid-month period, prices at Mont Belvieu, Texas, decreased as we head deeper into fall. The posted prices decreased 7.667 cents/gal, from September mid-month to October mid-month, and the spot prices decreased 8.75 cents. Conway, Kan., postings decreased 8.874 cents/gal, and spots decreased 10.5 cents over the month.
Mont Belvieu Postings
The Mont Belvieu mid-September posted price was 86.964 cents/gal. The next week the price decreased 5.667 cents to 81.297 cents, followed by a 2.25-cent increase to 83.547 cents the next week. Prices then decreased 2.333 cents to land at 81.214 the first week of October. At mid-month, postings decreased another 1.917 cents to land at 79.297 cents/gal. Compared to the same time in October 2022, the October 2023 prices were 17.292 cents lower.
Conway Postings
The Conway mid-September posted price was 81.948 cents/gal. The next week the price decreased by 5.8 cents to 76.148 cents, followed by a 0.05-cent increase to 76.198 cents the next week. Prices then decreased 1.3 cents to land at 74.898 the first week of October. At mid-month, postings decreased another 1.824 cents to land at 73.074 cents/gal. Compared to the same time in October 2022, the October 2023 prices were 18.374 cents lower.
Mont Belvieu Spots
Mont Belvieu spot propane opened the mid-September period at 77.5 cents/gal. The next week the price fell by 6.875 cents to 70.625 cents, followed by a 2.125-cent increase to 72.75 cents the next week. Prices then decreased 4.5 cents to land at 68.25 the first week of October. At mid-month, they rose 0.5 cents to land at 68.75 cents/gal. Compared to the same time in October 2022, the October 2023 prices were 13.125 cents lower.
Conway Spots
Conway spots opened the mid-September period at 77.25 cents/gal. The next week the price fell 12.25 cents to 65 cents, followed by a 5.125-cent increase to 70.125 cents the next week. Prices then decreased 3.375 cents to land at 66.75 the first week of October. At mid-month, they remained flat at 66.75 cents/gal. Compared to the same time in October 2022, the October 2023 prices were 26.5 cents lower.
