Many Missouri school districts have already applied to the Missouri Department of Elementary & Secondary Education’s Propane School Bus Grant program, and funds are going fast. The program has been so popular that within a few weeks, DESE has received 24 applications. Fourteen more are available. DESE is providing funding assistance in the amount of $970,000 million to school districts for the purchase of school buses powered by propane. Missouri school districts can apply for grants of $24,250 per propane bus, up to four buses per school.
According to finalized data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration, the average residential price of grid electricity in the U.S. increased 6.3% between 2022 and 2023. Further, the average commercial price of electricity rose 1.4% over that same period of time. Between 2013-2023, residential electricity rates increased 31.9%; the cost of commercial electricity increased 22.7% over the last decade as well.

Fairbank Equipment, a propane solutions provider to agricultural businesses, has announced the addition of Brayden Murrison and Dave Cox to its team as regional sales managers. Murrison will be representing customers in Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Montana and Utah. Murrison brings years of experience in the piping industry into his new role.
Canada's primary underground propane inventories decreased by 6.1% in October, according to the Canada Energy Regulator (CER). The total represented a month-to-month decrease of 102.3 Mcm. Compared to a year earlier, stocks were lower, with 222.1 Mcm, or 12.4%, less product on hand.
Propane storages in the West started October a bit lower at 1028.8 Mcm, which corresponds to 6.481 MMbbl, the agency reported. From September to October, volumes decreased by 120.8 Mcm, or 10.5%, and were 90.8 less the year prior's level of 1119.6 Mcm.

PHILADELPHIA (October 24, 2024) – The School District of Philadelphia has taken a significant step toward a cleaner and healthier future for its students by adding 38 propane-powered school buses to its fleet.
During the latest mid-month period, prices at Mont Belvieu, Texas, increased. The posted prices increased 9.5 cents/gal, from September mid-month to October mid-month, and the spot prices increased 12.13 cents. Conway, Kansas, postings increased 4 cents/gal, and spots increased 4.25 cents over the month.
October 18 is the start of Washington State’s official 18-day voting period. This year, voters will be presented with two ballot initiatives that have a direct and substantial impact on the state’s propane marketplace. The National Propane Gas Association (NPGA) and Pacific Propane Gas Association (PPGA) have endorsed both initiatives and promoted a YES vote on I-2066 and I-2117.
Richmond, VA — Oct. 2024 — The Propane Education & Research Council (PERC) announced a new Double Propane Farm Incentive Program to assist farmers recovering from the devastating impact of the 2024 hurricane season. Available now through the end of the year, this program doubles the incentives available to qualifying producers for up to $10,000 off the purchase of propane-powered equipment.
