Atkinson, N.H. — Staff, colleagues and local businesses were all on hand to help Palmer Gas & Oil (PGO) celebrate National Propane Day with a delivery of renewable propane and a ribbon cutting at its newest fuel storage facility.
PGO General Manager Peter Iacobucci said, “This new facility consists of four 45,000-gallon tanks, which when combined with our plant at 13 Hall Farm Road and our Raymond and Somersworth plants give us a total of 810,000 gallons of propane storage. This amounts to the largest amount of fuel storage in Southern New Hampshire by an independent company”.
PGO is also the first propane company in southern New Hampshire to receive a load of renewable propane, a low-carbon alternative to conventional propane.
Leslie Anderson, president and CEO of the Propane Gas Association of New England spoke of the benefits of renewable propane. “Renewable propane allows us to immediately reduce our carbon footprint without investing in new appliances, heating systems or tanks. It will continue to grow with us into the future as a reliable, resilient power source as we continue to make a clean energy cleaner. ”
Iacobucci added, “This load of renewable propane marks a bold step forward in how we power our future and represents innovation, sustainability, and a shared commitment to cleaner energy. It is appropriate that we celebrate on National Propane Day, the day that the industry comes together to appreciate the people—the technicians, drivers, engineers, safety experts, and countless others—who keep propane safe, available, and accessible every single day.”
