Canada's primary underground propane inventories decreased by 9.01% in December, according to Canada Energy Regulator (CER). The total represented a month-to-month decrease of 180.4 Mcm. Compared to a year earlier, stocks were lower, with 485.6 Mcm, or 21.05%, less product on hand. 

KENT, Conn. (Dec. 14, 2021) – Cetane Associates LLC is pleased to announce that D. E. Duffey & Sons Inc., a Pennsylvania corporation with offices in Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania., has acquired the full-service heating oil delivery business of Sheller Oil Company, a Pennsylvania corporation located in West Chester, Pennsylvania. The transaction on the sale of their heating oil business closed on Dec. 9, 2021. (The Sheller family will continue to own its Sheller Propane business, operating from its current West Chester location.)

The Propane Education & Research Council has issued a call for comment.

Comments on the funding request must be received by 5 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on Jan. 21, 2022, to receive consideration.

TORONTO — Superior Plus Corp. announced it has closed the previously announced acquisition of the assets of a retail propane distribution company operating under the tradename Hopkins Propane.

Superior also announced it has acquired the assets of Mountain Energy Gas, a small distributor based in Waynesville, North Carolina, in a separate transaction.

Downers Grove, Ill. (Dec. 16, 2021) — Dover today announced that it has completed the acquisition of Acme Cryogenics, Inc. (“Acme”) for $295 million in cash, and that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Engineered Controls International LLC (“RegO”) for $631 million in cash, subject to customary purchase price adjustments. Additionally, the RegO acquisition includes tax step-up benefits with a net present value of approximately $35 million.

DOVER, Del., (Dec. 15, 2021) — Chesapeake Utilities Corporation announced that its propane subsidiary, Sharp Energy, has acquired the propane operating assets of Diversified Energy Company. Through this acquisition, the company expands its operating footprint into North Carolina and South Carolina.

TORONTO — Superior Plus Corp. announced that one of its wholly-owned subsidiaries has entered into an agreement to acquire the assets of a retail propane distribution company based in Michigan, operating under the tradename Hopkins Propane. The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2021 and is subject to customary closing conditions.

TORONTO (Dec. 14, 2021) — Superior Plus Corp. today announced that the corporation was subject to a ransomware incident on Sunday, Dec. 12, 2021, which impacted the corporation’s computer systems.

Upon learning of the incident, Superior took steps to secure its systems and mitigate the impact to the corporation’s data and operations. Independent cybersecurity experts have been retained to assist the corporation in dealing with the matter in accordance with industry best practices.

MONTREAL (Dec. 14, 2021) — Otodata Technologies USA announced that it has acquired Wireless Applications Corporation (WACnGO), a player in the South American and Israeli tank monitoring and delivery markets.

Founded in 2008, Otodata offers remote tank monitoring hardware and software for a variety of industries. Otodata's solutions allow users to monitor their tanks remotely; providing insightful, real-time data to optimize asset and labor productivity in their business.

KENT, Conn. (Dec. 9, 2021) – Cetane Associates LLC has announced that Dead River Company LLC, operating in northern New England, has acquired the full-service oil heat delivery business of Lavallee Oil Inc., a New Hampshire corporation. The transaction closed on Dec. 2, 2021.

WOOD DALE, Ill. (Dec. 06, 2021) — Power Solutions International Inc., a leader in the design, engineering and manufacture of emissions-certified engines and power systems, announced it received non-road certification for its 8.8-liter propane engine from the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and California Air Resources Board (CARB). The certification allows the propane-powered engine’s use in mobile, non-road applications.

Columbus, Ind. (Dec. 6, 2021) — Grammer Logistics, a leading chemicals, industrial gases and hazardous materials transportation and logistics firm, announced it is establishing a new commercial headquarters, located at 2001 Timberloch Place in The Woodlands, Texas. The office will serve as a central location for Grammer’s commercial team and business development activity to support its growing customer base. The company’s corporate office will remain in Columbus, Indiana.

Richland, Wash. (Dec. 7, 2021) — Christensen Inc. announced the acquisition of Yorkston Oil Co., a fuel and lubricant distributor and CFN cardlock marketer serving customers in Northwestern, Washington. Christensen Inc. is one of the largest distributors of fuels, lubricants and propane on the West Coast and is excited to be expanding their reach.
