During the latest mid-month period, prices at Mont Belvieu saw a decrease as we get closer to the end of summer. The posted prices decreased 6.5 cents/gal, from July mid-month to August mid-month while the spot prices decreased 3.875 cents. Conway, Kan., postings ended with a 6.05-cent decrease and spots decreased 2.25 cents over the month.
Mont Belvieu Postings
The Mont Belvieu mid-July posted price was 124.006 cents/gal. The next week the price increased by 0.5 cents to 124.506 cents, followed by a 1.25-cent decrease to 123.256 cents the first week of August. Prices then decreased 6 cents to land at 117.256 the next week. At mid-month, postings increased 0.25 cents to land at 117.506 cents/gal. Compared to the same time in August 2021, the August 2022 prices were 5.666 cents lower.
Conway Postings
The Conway mid-July posted price was 117.748 cents/gal. The next week the price decreased by 1.4 cents to 116.348 cents, followed by a 0.15-cent decrease to 116.198 cents the first week of August. Prices then decreased 4.2 cents to land at 111.998 the fourth week. At mid-month, postings decreased another 0.3 cents to land at 111.698 cents/gal. Compared to the same time in August 2021, the August 2022 prices were 8.1 cents lower.
Mont Belvieu Spots
Mont Belvieu spot propane opened the mid-July period at 111.875 cents/gal. The next week the price increased by 2 cents to 113.875 cents, followed by a 5.625-cent decrease to 108.250 cents the first week of August. Prices remained flat at 108.25 the next week. At mid-month, they fell 0.25 cents to land at 108 cents/gal. Compared to the same time in August 2021, the August 2022 prices were 5 cents lower.
Conway Spots
Conway spots opened the mid-July period at 109.750 cents/gal. The next week the price remained steady 109.750 cents, followed by a 3.25-cent decrease to 106.500 cents the first week of August. Prices then increased 0.5 cents to land at 107 the next week. At mid-month, they rose another 0.5 cents to land at 107.500 cents/gal. Compared to the same time in August 2021, the August 2022 prices were 7.25 cents lower.
