Canada's primary underground propane inventories decreased by 4.2% in November, according to the Canada Energy Regulator. The total represented a month-to-month decrease of 68.9 Mcm. Compared to a year earlier, stocks were lower, with 233.2 Mcm, or 12.8%, less product on hand.

Propane storages in the West started November a bit lower at 1089.7 Mcm, which corresponds to 6.9 MMbbl, the agency reported. From October to November, volumes decreased by 24.8 Mcm, or 2.2%, and were 48.3 Mcm less the year prior's level of 1138.0 Mcm.

On Nov. 18, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) removed the following ELDs from the list of registered ELDs due to the providers’ failure to meet the minimum requirements established in 49 CFR part 395, subpart B, appendix A. 

These ELDs now appear on FMCSA’s Revoked Devices list.

As previously announced, Steven C. Boyd, the company's chief operating officer, will retire effective January 1, 2025. 

West Palm Beach, FL — Nov. 18 — Blue Peak Resources, a merger and acquisitions consulting firm, announced that Paula Wilson has joined the organization as its latest team member. 

During the latest mid-month period, prices at Mont Belvieu, Texas, increased. The posted prices increased 6 cents/gal, from October mid-month to November mid-month, and the spot prices increased 3.625 cents. Conway, Kansas, postings increased 1.35 cents/gal, and spots increased 2.75 cents over the month. 

Santa Energy, based in Bridgeport, Connecticut, has acquired West Oil Company of North Adams, Massachusetts, marking a significant milestone for both family-operated businesses. Cetane Associates facilitated the transaction, ensuring a seamless transition that honors West Oil’s legacy of reliable service since 1949.

On Nov. 5, Washington state residents voted to pass Citizen Ballot Initiative No. 2066 by a roughly 100,000 vote margin. The initiative aims to protect energy choice across the state. 

The National Propane Gas Association (NPGA) has been working with the Pacific Propane Gas Association, the Washington Building Industry Association, and a broad coalition to fight government efforts to ban and limit access to gas hookups and gas appliances through the State Building Codes Council (SBCC). 

Many Missouri school districts have already applied to the Missouri Department of Elementary & Secondary Education’s Propane School Bus Grant program, and funds are going fast. The program has been so popular that within a few weeks, DESE has received 24 applications. Fourteen more are available. DESE is providing funding assistance in the amount of $970,000 million to school districts for the purchase of school buses powered by propane. Missouri school districts can apply for grants of $24,250 per propane bus, up to four buses per school.

According to finalized data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration, the average residential price of grid electricity in the U.S. increased 6.3% between 2022 and 2023. Further, the average commercial price of electricity rose 1.4% over that same period of time. Between 2013-2023, residential electricity rates increased 31.9%; the cost of commercial electricity increased 22.7% over the last decade as well. 

Legacy Energy Consulting facilitated the sale of Griffin's Propane, a family-run business in Silver City, New Mexico, to an undisclosed buyer. Founded in 1991, Griffin's Propane expanded to eight locations across New Mexico and Arizona over 30 years.

Ward's long-standing employment at Gardner Marsh has provided the company and its customers with knowledge, expertise and leadership.
