The posted prices decreased 4.25 cents/gal, from July mid-month to August mid-month, and the spot prices decreased 6.125 cents. Conway, Kansas, postings decreased 3.9 cents/gal, and spots decreased 4.375 cents over the month.

(Aug. 15, 2024) — In a news release, the National Propane Gas Association (NPGA) reported that it received a written confirmation on Aug. 13 that Sonoma County, California, had suspended the enforcement of an ordinance banning propane appliances in newly constructed buildings in the county.

Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. (Aug. 6, 2024) — Palmdale Oil, a leading provider of fuels, propane, lubricants and chemicals with delivery solutions across the state of Florida, announced it has acquired Maassen Oil Company Inc., a Florida-based distributor of refined fuel, lubricants and propane. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

HOUSTON (July 30, 2024) — Enterprise Products Partners L.P. today announced that it is moving forward with a key expansion project along the Houston Ship Channel in response to continued strong customer demand for natural gas liquids export capacity. At the Enterprise Hydrocarbons Terminal (EHT), the company is adding refrigeration capacity that will increase propane and butane export capabilities by approximately 300,000 barrels per day (bpd).

GRAHAM, N.C. — The Southeast Propane Alliance Technical Education Center (SEPATEC) has launched a new program designed to provide comprehensive entry-level driver training (ELDT) training that leads to a CDL B license while adhering to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Association (FMCSA) regulations and guidelines to ensure high-quality education and preparation. The program encompasses theory training, Behind the Wheel, and testing requirements, equipping participants with the necessary skills for success in the propane industry.

In accordance with the Propane Education and Research Act of 1996 (Public Law 104-284), the Propane Education & Research Council hereby publishes a 2025 budget plan for public comment. The budget plan includes the probable costs of all programs, projects, and contracts, as well as a recommended rate of assessment sufficient to cover such costs. After public review and comment, PERC must submit the proposed budget to the Secretary of Energy and to the Congress. Comments are due August 31, 2024. Comments must be received by 5 p.m.

Canada's primary underground propane inventories increased by 24.2% in July, according to the Canada Energy Regulator. The total represented a month-to-month increase of 241.7 Mcm. Compared to a year earlier, stocks were higher, with 76.9 Mcm, or 6.6%, more product on hand.

Propane storages in the West started July a bit higher at 968.3 Mcm, which corresponds to 6.1 MMbbl, the agency reported. From June to July, volumes increased by 194.9 Mcm, or 25.2%, and were 177.5 more the year prior's level of 790.8 Mcm.
