The November 2025 Canadian propane inventories decreased by 2.7% from October, according to the Canada Energy Regulator. The total represented a month-to-month decrease of 42.5 Mcm. Compared to a year earlier, stocks were lower, with 25.9 Mcm, or 1.6%, less product on hand.
Propane storages in the West started November lower at 1027.1 Mcm, which corresponds to 6.471 MMbbl, the agency reported. From October to November, volumes decreased by 89.9 Mcm, or 8.1%, and were 62.6 Mcm less than the year prior's level of 1089.7 Mcm.
Propane storages in the East started November higher at 533.7 Mcm, commensurate with 3.363 MMbbl. This gain put propane 47.4 Mcm, or 9.8%, higher for the month, with an increase of 36.8 Mcm, or 7.4% above a year earlier.
Canadian butane inventories stood at 1131.8 Mcm in November, for a decrease of 195.8 Mcm, or 14.8%, from October. Unlike propane, the year-over-year comparison finds butane volumes to be higher than the prior year's total, with inventories 143.1 Mcm, or 14.5%, above 2024.
Western butane supplies, at 631.8 Mcm, were lower by 163 Mcm, or 20.5%, from the previous months and were 182.6 Mcm, or 40.7%, more than last year. Eastern butane, at 500 Mcm, was 32.7 Mcm, or 6.1%, lower month over month, and totaled 39.5 Mcm, or 7.3%, below a year earlier.
