Wholesale LPG distributor 3eight Energy has acquired a propane rail terminal in Mount Airy, Georgia. The sale was completed in March 2023.

The terminal will primarily be used to enhance supply security and transportation options for retailers and carriers in the North Georgia region. The terminal currently has the capability to unload five rail cars and has two truck loading bays.

Phil Farris, director of 3eight Energy, said, “We are excited about adding the Mount Airy, Georgia, facility to the 3eight Energy network. Mount Airy will complement our existing southeast propane distribution system and will be a strategic delivery point for both conventional and renewable propane (rLPG).”

3eight Energy operates in 10 southeast and mid-Atlantic states, providing propane supply and advisory services to their network of independent propane dealers.
