Washington, D.C. (May 30, 2017) – Women in Propane (WIP) Council, the fastest-growing business council of the National Propane Gas Association (NPGA), announced that Laurie Irish-Jones will assume the position of Chair effective June 8, 2017. Currently, Irish-Jones serves as Vice Chair. She will succeed Kelly Bosak, who is joining a Kansas City-based commercial development company.

The council announced concurrently that Brilynn Johnson will step into the Vice Chair role, also effective June 8. Johnson now serves as the Past Chair of the council’s Programs & Events Committee.

As Chair of WIP, Laurie will assume responsibility for directing the council’s growth and programming while ensuring financial stability and supplying exceptional value to its members.

Irish-Jones commented, “I am honored and excited to lead the Women in Propane Council. CEO of Irish Propane and Irish Carbonic located in Buffalo, New York, Irish-Jones holds both Bachelor of Science and Juris Doctorate degrees. She has had the pleasure and opportunity to work with both of her parents and three of her four sisters. They have been working as a team since the 1990’s.
Irish-Jones enjoys charity work and is the past chair for the Hope Chest Buffalo Niagara Dragon Boat Festival which supports paddling teams of breast cancer survivors.

She serves on the board of The Center of Entrepreneurship at the State University of Buffalo, the Buffalo Niagara Partnership Council, and is the past president of the International Beverage Dispensing Association and the New York Propane Gas Association.

Incoming Vice Chair Brilynn Johnson is the Regional Sales and Marketing Director for the Western Region of AmeriGas Propane. She is based out of Lincoln, California, and oversees the sales and marketing efforts of the ten most western states, including Alaska and Hawaii. She has been employed at AmeriGas since 1997, having worked in various departments. She is third generation in the propane industry which she holds very close to her heart as it was a huge piece of her childhood. Johnson holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Sacramento State University which she achieved during her tenure with AmeriGas.
