Golden Gate Terminal has opened its new rail terminal located 15 miles east of Reno, Nevada.

Located in the Tahoe Regional Industrial Complex, the terminal is ideally located to provide service to large areas in the West. The terminal can handle more than 100 railcars and has 22 tanks with 135,000-bbl capacity.

Throughput products at the facility include propane, butane, motor fuels, aviation gas, jet, diesel exhaust fluid, ethanol, methanol, and ultra-low-sulfur diesel. A loading rack has been installed that allows tankers and super-tankers to load products within 30 minutes. The terminal can receive products by rail via both BNSF and Union Pacific, allowing it to access supply from across large parts of the U.S. and Canada.

The rail facility should ease a tight market for petroleum products logistics throughout the West.
