Carrollton, TX — Feb. 6, 2025 — Gas Equipment Company Inc. (GEC) announced a strategic leadership transition to support ongoing growth and expansion. As part of a global realignment within MAKEEN Energy, GEC’s CEO, Gijs Majoor, will expand his role to lead MAKEEN Energy’s Gas Equipment operations globally. In order to maintain seamless operations in the U.S., GEC has implemented a revised leadership structure to support the transition.
Majoor, who became CEO of Gas Equipment Company Inc., in October 2021, has successfully guided the company through a period of significant growth and operational improvement within the last several years. Under his leadership, GEC has remained committed to keeping customers as a top priority and has focused on innovation within the industry. Now, Majoor will continue as CEO of Gas Equipment Company Inc., while taking on the role of CEO of MAKEEN Gas Equipment as well as joining the executive management group at MAKEEN Energy.
As a result, GEC’s U.S. operations will be led on a daily basis by Kevin Pruitt, senior vice president of Sales & Marketing, and Jason Steichen, who has been promoted to senior vice president of Administration and general manager. Pruitt will oversee the company’s sales strategy and marketing activities, while Steichen will manage IT, HR, Finance, and lead the Senior Leadership Team.
In Europe, the leadership structure will also be strengthened with Christian Fredberg stepping into the role of director of MAKEEN Gas Equipment. He will play a key role in overseeing and supporting the operations in that region and working closely with the U.S. leadership team, ensuring alignment on a global scale for MAKEEN Gas Equipment.
“We are excited about these leadership changes and the new organizational structure,” said Majoor. “These changes are designed to support our long-term goals, and I have full confidence in Kevin and Jason’s ability to effectively lead the team as we continue to build on the legacy and success of GEC over the past 85 years.”
Majoor also emphasized that the changes will not disrupt day-to-day operations of the company. “Our commitment to providing reliable and innovative solutions, while staying true to our core values, will remain unchanged.”
With Majoor’s expanded role in the global gas equipment market and a strengthened leadership structure, Gas Equipment Company is better positioned to respond to customer needs with faster and more innovative products, support, and solutions while maintaining exceptional service.
