The Baker Hughes International Rig Count is up 13 rigs from last month to 800, with land rigs up 21 to 621 and offshore rigs down eight to 179.

• The international rig count is up 144 rigs from last year's count of 656, with land rigs up 119 and offshore rigs up 25.
• The average United States rig count for October was 538, up 30 from last months count of 508 and up 258 year over year.
• The average Canada rig count for October was 166, up 13 from last months count of 153 and up 86 year over year.
• The worldwide rig count for October was 1,504, up 56 from the 1,448 counted in September 2021, and up 488 from the 1,016 counted in October 2020.
