BROOKNEAL, Va. (September 3, 2019) – As Hurricane Dorian approaches the East Coast, residents are bracing themselves to endure the effects of the storm. Government agencies including FEMA have been taking actions to support residents and infrastructure. Foster Fuels received an activation order from FEMA to provide emergency fuel and fuel support services to those affected. The Brookneal Virginia-based, family owned company dispatched more than 100 vehicles including trucks carrying diesel fuel, gasoline and propane southward to prepare for the support of critical infrastructure.
Foster Fuels has been working with FEMA for close to 15 years providing emergency fuel services to government agencies, hospitals, communications sites and private industry during the aftermath of storms like Hurricane Maria and Superstorm Sandy. Vice President of Mission Critical services Will Rohrig states, “We are tremendously proud of the dedication our team exhibits and the sacrifices they make to support those who need help in the wake of storms like Dorian. Our number one goal is to keep them safe as they continue to support ongoing relief efforts on the ground in areas affected.”
Foster Fuels will be actively supporting relief efforts for as long as necessary to keep critical infrastructure like hospitals and power companies running and online. Dorian’s path looks to have shifted northward and could bring heavy rain and strong winds to Georgia and the Carolinas in addition to the impact it will likely have in Florida. Foster Fuels asks our community to keep those in the path of the storm and those responding in our thoughts and prayers.
Established in 1921, Foster Fuels, Inc. is a privately held corporation, providing downstream distribution of diesel, gasoline, Jet A, and propane to residential, commercial, and government customers. Foster Fuels operates an award-winning emergency fuel division specializing in business continuity and disaster recovery solutions.
