(September 7, 2018) — The European LPG Association announced the launch of a new name and visual identity brand at a recent gathering in Brussels, Belgium.
The European LPG Association, known as AEGPL, has rebranded to its new name, Liquid Gas Europe. The change of name, logo and visual identity was announced at a cocktail party that was attended by members of Liquid Gas Eurpoe and included several representatives of the LPG industry.
The Association is also celebrating its 50th Anniversary, having been created in 1968. Since then, the Association has moved from its original headquarters in Paris to Brussels where it currently offices a staff of seven. At the event, Liquid Gas Europe’s President, Francesco Franchi, spoke briefly about the history of the Liquid Gas Europe and thanked its members for their support.
"Not many Associations last half a century, and we are so proud that we have been able to grow more and more genuine and useful for all this time. This was only possible because we kept reinventing ourselves. We were originally an Association of Associations, today we represent the full LPG supply chain, from distributors to equipment manufacturers," remarked Franchi.
Association General Manager, Samuel Maubanc, explained the rationale behind the decision to re-brand AEGPL and its focus in the future. "We believe that the time for complex acronyms has passed. We want to have a name that immediately explains what we do, and an image that shows how dynamic and energetic this industry is. I think we achieved that and we look forward to continuing our work in Brussels by highlighting the benefits of LPG as a safe, clean, and versatile source of energy," said Maubanc.
More information about the activities of the Association and the LPG European industry can be found at Liquid Gas Europe’s website www.liquidgaseurope.eu. Liquid Gas Europe’s membership is composed by national LPG associations, European LPG distributors and equipment manufacturers. With the support of its working groups of industry experts, Liquid Gas Europe is actively involved in concrete initiatives and programs to ensure the sustainable, safe, and efficient development of LPG in Europe.
