This week the Federal Transit Administration released 2024 funding awards for transit buses and bus infrastructure. Awardees in Florida, Kansas, Mississippi, Minnesota, and South Dakota received nearly $27 million in grants to purchase propane buses and install propane fueling infrastructure. Awardees in Mississippi, Minnesota, and South Dakota have received funding in consecutive years.

Canada's primary underground propane inventories increased by 24.2% in July, according to the Canada Energy Regulator. The total represented a month-to-month increase of 241.7 Mcm. Compared to a year earlier, stocks were higher, with 76.9 Mcm, or 6.6%, more product on hand.

Propane storages in the West started July a bit higher at 968.3 Mcm, which corresponds to 6.1 MMbbl, the agency reported. From June to July, volumes increased by 194.9 Mcm, or 25.2%, and were 177.5 more the year prior's level of 790.8 Mcm.

On July 3, 2024, the National Propane Gas Association (NPGA) joined a coalition including the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), the National Apartment Association (NAA), the National Restaurant Association (NRA), the Colorado Association of Home Builders (CAHB), and the American Hotel and Lodging Association (AHLA) in challenging Denver’s electrification ordinance.

RALEIGH, N.C. (July 15, 2024) — The Southeast Propane Alliance (SEPA) and North Carolina Propane Education & Research Foundation (NCPERF) announced a propane autogas rebate pilot program for North Carolina marketers. The pilot program aims to showcase propane autogas and return value to marketers.

Effective July 1, SEPA and NCPERF will provide 20 rebates of $2,500 each for propane autogas vehicles to help the growth and development of marketers in North Carolina. These rebates can be used to cover expenses in the following categories:

During the latest mid-month period, prices at Mont Belvieu, Texas, increased. The posted prices increased 4.333 cents/gal, from June mid-month to July mid-month, and the spot prices increased 2.875 cents. Conway, Kansas, postings increased 3.5 cents/gal, and spots increased 3.375 cents over the month.

(“SQP”), a Florida corporation, has acquired certain assets used in the operation of, or associated with, the full-service propane delivery business of the Marianna propane branch of Florida Public Utilities (“FPU”) located in Marianna, Fla. The transaction closed on June 18, 2024.

Propane storages in the West started June a bit higher at 773.4 Mcm, which corresponds to 4.9 MMbbl, the agency reported. From May to June, volumes increased by 87.5 Mcm, or 12.8%, and were 218.8 more the year prior's level of 554.6 Mcm.

West Palm Beach, Fla. (June 20, 2024) — Blue Peak Resources, a merger and acquisitions consulting firm, announced the sale of Wrightington Gas Incorporated of Kingston, Massachusetts, to Spicer Propane of Groton, Connecticut.
