The World Liquefied Petroleum Gas Association's (WLPGA) Women in LPG announced it has officially opened nominations for both the Woman of the Year and Young Woman of the Year 2022 awards. 

The Woman of the Year Award is awarded each year to the outstanding individual who has made a significant contribution to the LPG industry and to the cause of diversity.

In accordance with the Propane Education and Research Act of 1996 (Public Law 104-284), the Propane Education & Research Council (PERC) has published a 2023 budget plan for public comment.

The budget plan includes the probable costs of all programs, projects and contracts as well as a recommended rate of assessment sufficient to cover such costs. After public review and comment, PERC must submit the proposed budget to the secretary of energy and to the Congress. Comments are due August 31, 2022.

Washington (Aug. 2, 2022) — Hi Pro Inc., a nationwide mail logistics contractor with a 40-year history of servicing the United States Postal Service, celebrated the launch of its propane autogas vehicle fleet at a ribbon cutting ceremony in Commerce City, Colorado. During the ceremony, Hi Pro Inc. CEO Joshua Stoneback unveiled the five, class 6 ultra-low nitrogen oxide (NOx) box trucks and state-of-the-art propane autogas infrastructure that will reduce emissions in the Denver metro.

 

NATIONAL — Mark Lashier has officially stepped into his new role as president and CEO of Phillips 66, 33 years after he started his career as a research engineer in the labs of Phillips Petroleum. 

Lashier takes over from Greg Garland, who is stepping down after 10 years as CEO but staying on as executive chairman of the company’s board of directors. Lashier came to Phillips 66 in April 2021 after four years as CEO of Chevron Phillips Chemical Company, in which Phillips 66 owns a 50% stake.

Matthew Toone, Anova CEONew Providence, N.J. (July 25, 2022) — Anova announced that Matthew “Matt” Toone has been appointed CEO. An experienced and entrepreneurial business leader, Toone succeeds Chet Reshamwala and has assumed responsibilities as of July 18.

Marshall Excelsior (MEC) announced that it has welcomed John Gregg to the sales team as the new western United States/Canada sales manager. John joins MEC after 10 years of sales experience within the LPG industry as both a territory sales representative and a regional sales manager covering the states of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana and Alaska. He is based out of Colbert, Washington, and will be providing hands-on support, technical training and sales/marketing support, in addition to being a general liaison to all customers located in western Canada and the western U.S..

Faure Announces Retirement

Joe FaureAfter 32 years with FEI Inc., Joe Faure has announced his retirement from his position as vice president of the propane division. His official retirement date will be Dec. 31, 2022.

During the latest mid-month period, prices at Mont Belvieu continued to decrease in the summer. The posted prices decreased 4.5 cents/gal, from June mid-month to July mid-month while the spot prices decreased 9.875 cents. Conway, Kan., postings ended with a 4.35-cent decrease and spots decreased 9 cents over the month.
