During the latest mid-month period, prices at Mont Belvieu, Texas, increased as we head deeper into summer. The posted prices increased 6.75 cents/gal, from June mid-month to July mid-month, while the spot prices increased 6.5 cents. Conway, Kan., postings ended with a 5.25-cent increase and spots increased 5.5 cents over the month.
Mont Belvieu Postings
The Mont Belvieu mid-June posted price was 65.547 cents/gal. The next week the price increased by 1.417 cents to 66.964 cents, followed by a 2.667-cent decrease to 64.297 cents the following week. Prices then decreased another 0.583 cents to land at 63.714 the first week of July. At mid-month, postings increased 8.583 cents to land at 72.297 cents/gal. Compared to the same time in July 2022, the July 2023 prices were 52.542 cents lower.
Conway Postings
The Conway mid-June posted price was 60.998 cents/gal. The next week the price decreased by 0.4 cents to 60.598 cents, followed by a 3.076-cent decrease to 57.522 cents the following week. Prices then decreased another 0.274 cents to land at 57.248 the first week of July. At mid-month, postings increased 9 cents to land at 66.248 cents/gal. Compared to the same time in July 2022, the July 2023 prices were 51.7 cents lower.
Mont Belvieu Spots
Mont Belvieu spot propane opened the mid-June period at 55 cents/gal. The next week the price fell 0.25 cents to 54.75 cents, followed by a 1-cent decrease to 53.75 cents the following week. Prices then decreased another 1.125 cents to land at 52.625 the first week of July. At mid-month, they rose 8.875 cents to land at 61.5 cents/gal. Compared to the same time in July 2022, the July 2023 prices were 48.5 cents lower.
Conway Spots
Conway spots opened the mid-June period at 54.25 cents/gal. The next week the price fell 1 cent to 53.25 cents, followed by a 1.25-cent decrease to 52 cents the following week. Prices then decreased another 0.5 cents to land at 51.5 the first week of July. At mid-month, they rose 8.25 cents to land at 59.75 cents/gal. Compared to the same time in July 2022, the July 2023 prices were 48.75 cents lower.
