During the latest mid-month period, prices at Mont Belvieu, Texas, increased in mid-winter. The posted prices increased 19 cents/gal, from December mid-month to January mid-month, and the spot prices increased 22 cents. Conway, Kansas, postings increased 19.03 cents/gal, and spots increased 18 cents over the month.
Mont Belvieu Postings
The Mont Belvieu mid-December posted price was 79.647 cents/gal. The next week the price increased 2.25 cents to 81.897 cents, followed by a 0.667-cent decrease to 81.23 cents the first week of January. Prices then increased 9.167 cents to land at 90.397 the next week. At mid-month, postings increased 8.25 cents to land at 98.647 cents/gal. Compared to the same time in January 2023, the January 2024 prices were 2.192 cents lower.
Conway Postings
The Conway mid-December posted price was 69.578 cents/gal. The next week the price increased by 0.967 cents to 70.545 cents, followed by a 3.26-cent increase to 73.805 cents the first week of January. Prices then increased 8.115 cents to land at 81.920 next week. At mid-month, postings increased 5.688 cents to land at 87.608 cents/gal. Compared to the same time in January 2023, the January 2024 prices were 6.34 cents lower.
Mont Belvieu Spots
Mont Belvieu spot propane opened the mid-December period at 67.5 cents/gal. The next week the price rose by 4.375 cents to 71.875 cents, followed by a 3.375-cent decrease to 68.5 cents the first week of January. Prices then increased 10.25 cents to land at 78.75 the next week. At mid-month, they rose 10.75 cents to land at 89.5 cents/gal. Compared to the same time in January 2023, the January 2024 prices are level at 89.5 cents/gal.
Conway Spots
Conway spots opened the mid-December period at 63 cents/gal. The next week the price rose by 4.5 cents to 67.5 cents, remaining flat the first week of January. Prices then increased 9.5 cents to land at 77 the next week. At mid-month, they rose 4 cents to land at 81 cents/gal. Compared to the same time in January 2023, the January 2024 prices were 7.5 cents lower.
