During the latest mid-month period, prices at Mont Belvieu, Texas, increased as we get deeper into winter. The posted prices increased 3.934 cents/gal, from November mid-month to December mid-month, and the spot prices increased 5.125 cents. Conway, Kan., postings increased 0.418 cents/gal, and spots increased 2 cents over the month.
Mont Belvieu Postings
The Mont Belvieu mid-November posted price was 74.380 cents/gal. The next week the price increased 1.167 cents to 75.547 cents, followed by a 1.667-cent increase to 77.214 cents the next week. Prices then increased 3.833 cents to land at 81.047 the first week of December. At mid-month, postings decreased 2.733 cents to land at 78.314 cents/gal. Compared to the same time in December 2022, the December 2023 prices were 4.025 cents lower.
Conway Postings
The Conway mid-November posted price was 66.685 cents/gal. The next week the price increased by 0.375 cents to 67.06 cents, followed by a 1.288-cent increase to 68.348 cents the next week. Prices then increased 2.357 cents to land at 70.705 the first week of December. At mid-month, postings decreased 3.602 cents to land at 67.103 cents/gal. Compared to the same time in December 2022, the December 2023 prices were 12.145 cents lower.
Mont Belvieu Spots
Mont Belvieu spot propane opened the mid-November period at 61.75 cents/gal. The next week the price rose by 0.875 cents to 62.625 cents, followed by a 4.25-cent increase to 66.875 cents the next week. Prices then increased 2.625 cents to land at 69.5 the first week of December. At mid-month, they fell 2.625 cents to land at 66.875 cents/gal. Compared to the same time in December 2022, the December 2023 prices were 0.375 cents lower.
Conway Spots
Conway spots opened the mid-November period at 60 cents/gal. The next week the price rose 0.5 cents to 60.5 cents, followed by a 2.875-cent increase to 63.375 cents the next week. Prices then increased 2.875 cents to land at 66.25 the next week. At mid-month, they fell 4.25 cents to land at 62 cents/gal. Compared to the same time in December 2022, the December 2023 prices were 9.5 cents lower.
