Judge Rules Michigan Cannot Shut Down Line 5 Pipeline

A federal judge ruled on Dec. 17 that Michigan does not have authority to shut down the Line 5 pipeline. The decision comes in response to a 2020 lawsuit from the pipeline owner after Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer ordered it shut down due to damage and safety issues.

During the latest mid-month period, prices at Mont Belvieu, Texas, increased. The posted prices increased 6.603 cents/gal, from November mid-month to December mid-month, while the spot prices increased 5 cents. Conway, Kansas, postings increased 8.09 cents/gal, and spots increased 7 cents over the month.
