Professionals and volunteers involved with propane-related emergency and incident response activities from across the state gathered to exchange vital propane safety information, techniques, and experiences among industry responders. The Emergency Responder Training is a partnership between state associations and industry members to expand the reach and frequency of propane emergency training programs throughout the U.S.
The goal is to bring firefighters, first responders and propane marketers together to reinforce partnerships that share knowledge and expertise, work and learn from each other by participating in specific safety training exercises, all in the interest of safety.

The recent three-day training event began Monday, September 12, 2016, and concluded Sept. 14th. The intensive safety training event featured live demonstrations and rotating field training for attendees. Attendance included members of fire departments and propane companies throughout New York State, and other professionals involved with propane-related emergency and incident response activities from across the state, including propane professionals, fire service and emergency response trainers, towing and recovery professionals, law enforcement, and more.

The conference was held by the New York Propane Gas Association and the Propane Education & Research Council. Additional safety training events are offered in the U.S. throughout the year. Contact your state propane gas association for information on training opportunities.
