Columbus, OH and Bedford, MA (June 22, 2022) — Worthington Industries Inc. announced an expansion of its partnership with F.W. Webb Company, the largest wholesale distributor of plumbing, heating, HVAC, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), refrigeration, pipe, valves and fittings in the Northeast, to offer their revolutionary SmartLid remote tank monitoring system.

SmartLid was designed with the technician in mind. It can be installed on Worthington tanks—both new and those already in place. It also fits most tanks — vertical or horizontal — from other manufacturers with either a simple hinge and latch kit or a mounting bracket. The monitor, powered by Otodata’s leading tank monitoring technology, arrives pre-activated for easy installation without extra training. Once in place, the fuel dealer will have immediate, real-time access to all gas level data, with:

  • The monitor optimally positioned for a strong signal within a protective waterproof polypropylene casing
  • Two SIM cards and dual cellular technologies in every monitor to ensure reception regardless of location
  • A lithium thionyl chloride battery with super capacitor provides a 15 to 20 year life span
  • The ability to fit most vertical, horizontal and underground heating and system tanks

“With this solution, F.W. Webb can provide their LPG customers with the best solution to monitor fuel levels remotely,” said Director of LPG Products  Bobby Weinberg. “SmartLid will enhance the efficiency and profitability of their customers’ operations.”

“This is a great offering for Webb customers,” said Mike DelConte, vice president of heating and LPG sales. “Time is money for fuel dealers, and this product means less time wasted in the field. The SmartLid app identifies exactly where and when fuel or service is needed.”

The solution is available for immediate purchase by all F.W. Webb customers.
