The Women in Propane Business Council (WIP) will cohost a discussion focused on the role of the World LP Gas Association (WLPGA) in the creation of a global network for women in the propane industry. The roundtable discussion will take place during the 27th World LP gas Forum and 29th AIGLP Congress on Wednesday,
Oct. 29 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Miami.

Nikki Brown, managing director of Cavagna Group UK Ltd., will lead the conversation with WIP founding chair Nancy Coop, a business development executive with Ferrellgas (Overland Park, Kan.), and Jill Hopkins, CFO of Sheldon Gas Co. (Suisun City, Calif.). Coop and Hopkins will share the history of the U.S. Women in Propane Council, its success and challenges, and the group’s plans for the future.

Following their presentation, they will be joined by a panel moderated by Brown. The panel will include international industry leaders, among them Reema Nanavaty, secretary general of India’s Self Employed Women Association; Sheila Oparaocha, executive director of Energia in the Netherlands; Christina Espinosa, CEO of GenteGas of Guatemala; and Kilinda Magloire, CEO of SWITCH, based in Haiti. The panel will address forming a group similar to WIP through WLPGA.

“I am thrilled to be able to share the story of the U.S. Women in Propane Council with a global audience,” said Hopkins. “While we are still a relatively new group, our reach is expansive and we are delivering results for our members. I’m looking forward to seeing our concept applied on an international stage.” For more information about the forum, visit www.wlpgas2014.com/ or contact Esther Assous at This email address is being protected from spambots.
