ThompsonGas (Frederick, Md.) confirmed Sept. 8 that it had acquired Pirkl Gas Inc., a propane provider based in Owatonna, Minn. Terms of the deal were not provided.
Pirkl’s customers and employees are welcomed into the ThompsonGas family. ThompsonGas is committed to serving the residential, commercial, and agricultural customers who have valued the Pirkl’s presence and service in the area for 61 years.
“We are pleased to announce that we have added Pirkl Gas Inc. located in Owatonna, Minn., to our ever growing ThompsonGas team,” said Jeff Kerns, CEO. “Greg Pirkl and his family have built a business that strives for excellence in service, which will continue with ThompsonGas.”
“Pirkl Gas is a great addition to our presence in Minnesota,” said regional vice president Derek Ashmore. “It gives us another very strong footprint to continue our active growth strategy.”
“Pirkl Gas Inc. is excited to partner with ThompsonGas and help move our beloved propane company to the next level,” said Greg Pirkl. “Our family had many discussions on what is the best fit for us and our next step in life and how to bring the next generation into the fold. We decided as a group that our best choice was to partner with a larger company that had the staff and the infrastructure to deal with all the challenges facing a business today.
