Thermotane Propane acquires Matchett & Son LP GAS, a propane provider based in Interlachen, Florida.
This privately arranged, owner-to-owner deal brings Matchett’s team and customers into the Thermotane family, helping them expand their reach across Gainesville, Ocala and St. Augustine. With this acquisition, they now operate three locations, with more on the way.

This marks only the second acquisition in Thermotane’s 77-year history and aligns closely with the company’s long-term growth strategy. Launched in 2023, their “Five Locations in Five Years” initiative set out to expand while preserving the personal service that defines the brand. With a fourth location already in permitting and a fifth underway, Thermotane is currently ahead of schedule.
For existing Matchett customers, daily service will remain familiar — now backed by greater support, expanded service options and the same small-town approach. Thermotane continues to prioritize simplicity, transparency and a customer-first mindset.
