Superior Energy Systems (Cleveland) has appointed Crystelle Markley as marketing director. She will be responsible for executing the company’s long-term growth plan for propane solutions, focusing on the midstream market. Prior to joining Superior Energy, Markley spent 10 years with CleanFUEL USA (Georgetown, Texas) in various sales and marketing roles.
The Canadian Propane Association’s (CPA) board of directors appointed Nathalie St-Pierre as the organization’s next president and CEO, effective April 17, 2017. St-Pierre, a lawyer, is a member of the School of Community and Public Affairs at Concordia University. Prior to joining CPA, she was vice president of sustainability and executive director for the Quebec Retail Council of Canada.
Mike Burger, who has covered a six-state region for Quality Steel (Cleveland, Miss.), recently retired. His propane career spanned 40 years. Mike Rentmeester will take over Burger’s territory.

A. James (Jim) Doyle Jr. passed away Jan. 13 at the age of 79. He operated Commercial Fuel Sales in partnership with Martin Oil Co., and later went to work for Vangas in Sonora, Calif. Before his retirement, he was a petroleum broker under the name Hibernia Petroleum.
Geneva Goodrich, the long-time co-owner of Goodrich Gas Co. (Crocker, Mo.), passed away Feb 4. She was 86. Mrs. Goodrich and her husband Bob have owned and operated Goodrich Gas since 1959.
Shirley Mae Nicholson, wife of Eastern Propane Corp.’s (Oak Ridge, N.J.) Robert Nicholson, and a longtime member of the propane industry, passed away May 12. She was 85. Mrs. Nicholson served as the corporate secretary for Eastern Propane for more than 30 years. Her love of involvement and volunteering including serving on the National Propane Gas Associations’s scholarship committee.
Owen Vandewarker, former owner of Lake Propane (Nice, Calif.) and Ukiah Propane (Ukiah, Calif.), passed away March 28. He was 79. He began his career in the propane industry in the late 1950s working for Suburban Gas/Doxol, then worked for San Luis Butane (Atascadero, Calif.) and Blue Star Gas (Upper Lake, Calif.).
