On September 3, 2024, the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration awarded the National Propane Gas Association (NPGA) a $400,000 grant under the Hazardous Materials Instructor Training Program. NPGA received the full amount requested in its grant proposal.
NPGA will actively collaborate with affiliated state and regional associations to enhance hazardous materials safety training, aligning with regulations and standards from the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and other pertinent agencies and codes- and standards-setting bodies. For this grant, NPGA aims to extend sub-awards to state and regional associations, through a train-the-trainer program. The period of performance for the grant is October 1, 2024 through September 1, 2025. NPGA will be developing implementation plans, reporting requirements, and accounting requirements prior to the period of performance.
