During the latest mid-month period, prices at Mont Belvieu, Texas, increased as we hit the mid-winter. The posted prices increased 9 cents/gal, from December mid-month to January mid-month while the spot prices increased 14 cents. Conway, Kan., postings ended with a 5.5-cent increase and spots increased 8.5 cents over the month.

Mont Belvieu Postings

The Mont Belvieu mid-December posted price was 82.339 cents/gal. The next week the price decreased by 3.583 cents to 78.756 cents, followed by a 2.75-cent increase to 81.506 cents the next week. Prices then increased 5.833 cents to land at 87.339 the first week of January. At mid-month, postings increased 4 cents to land at 91.339 cents/gal. Compared to the same time in January 2022, the January 2023 prices were 39.333 cents lower.

Conway Postings

The Conway mid-December posted price was 79.248 cents/gal. The next week the price decreased by 2.5 cents to 76.748 cents, followed by a 5.5-cent increase to 82.248 cents the next week. Prices then decreased 0.576 cents to land at 81.672 the first week of January. At mid-month, postings increased 3.076 cents to land at 84.748 cents/gal. Compared to the same time in January 2022, the January 2023 prices were 41 cents lower.

 

 

Mont Belvieu Spots

Mont Belvieu spot propane opened the mid-December period at 67.250 cents/gal. The next week the price rose by 1.75 cents to 69.000 cents, followed by a 1.5-cent increase to 70.500 cents the next week. Prices then increased another 1.5 cents to land at 72.000 the first week of January. At mid-month, they rose 9.25 cents to land at 81.250 cents/gal. Compared to the same time in January 2022, the January 2023 prices were 33.625 cents lower.

Conway Spots

Conway spots opened the mid-December period at 71.500 cents/gal. The next week the price rose 0.25 cents to 71.750 cents, followed by a 4-cent increase to 75.750 cents the next week. Prices then decreased 3.75 cents to land at 72.000 the first week of January. At mid-month, they rose 8 cents to land at 80.000 cents/gal. Compared to the same time in January 2022, the January 2023 prices were 35.5 cents lower.
