During the latest mid-month period, prices at Mont Belvieu, Texas, decreased as summer begins wrapping up. The posted prices decreased 3.167 cents/gal, from July mid-month to August mid-month while the spot prices decreased 3.75 cents. Conway, Kan., postings remained flat at 68.748 and spots decreased 0.5 cents over the month.
Mont Belvieu Postings
The Mont Belvieu mid-July posted price was 74.714 cents/gal. The next week the price remained flat at 74.714 cents, followed by a 5.5-cent increase to 80.214 cents the first week of August. Prices then increased another 1.666 cents to land at 81.880 the following week. At mid-month, postings decreased 10.333 cents to land at 71.547 cents/gal. Compared to the same time in August 2022, the August 2023 prices were 45.959 cents lower.
Conway Postings
The Conway mid-July posted price was 68.748 cents/gal. The next week the price increased by 0.9 cents to 69.648 cents, followed by a 7.1-cent increase to 76.748 cents the first week of August. Prices then increased another 0.55 cents to land at 77.298 the following week. At mid-month, postings decreased 8.55 cents to land at 68.748 cents/gal. Compared to the same time in August 2022, the August 2023 prices were 42.95 cents lower.
Mont Belvieu Spots
Mont Belvieu spot propane opened the mid-July period at 65.75 cents/gal. The next week the price rose by 1.25 cents to 67 cents, followed by a 5-cent increase to 72 cents the first week of August. Prices then decreased 1.75 cents to land at 70.25 the following week. At mid-month, they fell another 8.25 cents to land at 62 cents/gal. Compared to the same time in August 2022, the August 2023 prices were 46 cents lower.
Conway Spots
Conway spots opened the mid-July period at 63.75 cents/gal. The next week the price rose 2.25 cents to 66 cents, followed by a 6.25-cent increase to 72.25 cents the first week of August. Prices then decreased 2 cents to land at 70.25 the following week. At mid-month, they fell another 7 cents to land at 63.25 cents/gal. Compared to the same time in August 2022, the August 2023 prices were 44.25 cents lower.
