Energy Transfer LP (Dallas) said Nov. 30 that its subsidiary, Sunoco Pipeline LP, has launched a binding open season to solicit shipper commitments for transportation service of C3-plus natural gas liquids from the Marcellus/Utica play in Pennsylvania to facilities in Claymont, Del. and Marcus Hook, Pa. via the Mariner East pipeline system.

The open season will allow Sunoco Pipeline to take advantage of new opportunities to add additional product commitments to the pipeline, which is now nearing completion. The open season commenced at 3 p.m. EST Nov. 30. Potential shippers wishing to receive copies of the open season documents are required to execute a confidentiality agreement. They may direct their requests for the agreement to MarinerEastOS@ energytransfer.com.

The Mariner East pipeline system went into service in the fourth quarter of 2014 for propane and the first quarter of 2016 for ethane. It is a series of pipelines from the Marcellus/Utica basin with origins in Ohio, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania that transport natural gas liquids through interstate and intrastate routes to destinations in Pennsylvania and Claymont, Del. Mariner East is operated by a wholly owned subsidiary of Energy Transfer Operating LP.
