Raleigh, North Carolina — In response to the urgent need for support following the devastating impact of Hurricane Helene, the Southeast Propane Alliance (SEPA), the North Carolina Propane and Education Foundation and Georgia Agricultural Commodity Commission for Propane are proud to announce an initiative to aid residents in North Carolina and Georgia. Effective Oct. 10, 2024, North Carolina residents and Oct. 21, 2024, Georgia residents impacted by the storm will be eligible for doubled propane rebates to aid their recovery efforts. These rebates, available until Dec. 31, 2024, or while funds last, present an immediate opportunity for financial assistance.

Hurricane Helene has left many families and communities struggling to rebuild and recover. We recognize residents' hardships during this challenging time and are committed to offering support through these enhanced rebate opportunities. We aim to make the transition back to normalcy a little easier by doubling the financial assistance available for new propane appliances.

Rebate Details for North Carolina Residents

Eligible residents from the following counties can apply for increased propane appliance rebates: Alexander, Alleghany, Ashe, Avery, Buncombe, Burke, Caldwell, Catawba, Clay, Cleveland, Gaston, Haywood, Henderson, Jackson, Lincoln, Macon, Madison, McDowell, Mitchell, Polk, Rutherford, Transylvania, Watauga, Wilkes and Yancey.

Residents can receive the following rebates for new propane appliances:

  • Propane furnace or gas pack: $800
  • Propane-fueled tankless water heater: $600
  • Propane-fueled storage-type water heater: $600
  • Propane-fueled vented room heater or wall furnace: $300
  • Dual fuel heat pump with propane as one fuel (includes hydronic): $800
  • Propane-fueled cooktop/range: $100
  • Propane-fueled clothes dryer: $100

Rebate Details for Georgia Residents

Georgia residents affected by Hurricane Helene from the following counties may also apply for increased rebates: Appling, Atkinson, Bacon, Ben Hill, Berrien, Brantley, Brooks, Bryan, Bulloch, Burke, Butts, Camden, Candler, Charlton, Chatham, Clinch, Coffee, Colquitt, Columbia, Cook, Dodge, Echols, Effingham, Elbert, Emanuel, Evans, Fulton, Glascock, Glynn, Hancock, Irwin, Jeff Davis, Jefferson, Jenkins, Johnson, Lanier, Laurens, Liberty, Lincoln, Long, Lowndes, McDuffie, Montgomery, Newton, Pierce, Rabun, Richmond, Screven, Tattnall, Telfair, Thomas, Tift, Toombs, Treutlen, Ware, Warren, Washington, Wayne and Wheeler.

 

Eligible residents can receive the following rebates for new propane appliances:

  • Propane furnace or gas pack: $600
  • Propane-fueled tankless water heater: $400
  • Propane-fueled storage-type water heater: $400
  • Dual fuel heat pump with propane as one fuel (includes hydronic): $500

Application Process

Residents in both states are encouraged to act swiftly and contact local propane dealers to initiate the application process. These rebates will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis until Dec. 31, 2024, or while funds last, underscoring the importance of applying as soon as possible. Applications (form) supporting claims or sales must be received by Dec. 31, 2024.
