Kansas City, Mo.-based Crestwood Midstream hosted a pig roast Nov. 5 to introduce North Carolina propane and NGL marketers to its new rail facility being developed in Rose Hill. The new terminal is scheduled to open for business early next year. About 60 guests attended the event, which included propane marketers from across the state as well as the local police chief and fire chief and representatives of the North Carolina Propane Gas Association.
Andy Ronald, vice president of commercial development and national accounts at Crestwood, welcomed those in attendance and provided an overview of the facility. Crestwood’s Max Johnson, southeast marketing representative, and Chris Roth, director of east marketing and supply, were also on hand to visit with marketers and answer questions about the site’s storage capabilities and services.
The new Rose Hill terminal will provide propane marketers across North Carolina and the wider region with an additional source of reliable supply. Strategically located east of the Dixie Pipeline, it will bring supply to North Carolina,
South Carolina, and Virginia from multiple shale gas production areas. A two-spot truck rack, a five-spot rail rack, and 240,000 gallons of storage will enable fast loading of up to 40 trucks a day while eliminating long wait times during peak periods.
“We look forward to opening the new Rose Hills rail facility early next year, as it will provide peace of mind for propane and NGL marketers across the region,” said Ronald.
