Crescent Point Energy Corp. (Calgary) is recalling about 118 million gallons of propane due to insufficient levels of odorant, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) reports. The recall involves propane delivered to consumers for use in storage tanks or sold at retail locations for use in portable refillable tanks. The fuel was also sold to businesses for commercial and industrial use.

CPSC says consumers should not attempt to test the propane themselves. Instead, they should immediately contact their retailer, supplier, or the Crescent Point Energy hotline at 866/421-4266 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Mountain Time to schedule an inspection. Customers may also email the company at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., or go online at youandpropane.com.

The propane was distributed in Arizona, Idaho, Kentucky, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Washington, Wisconsin, and Utah, and was sold by retailers between April 2009 and October 2015. If inspection confirms that the propane contains insufficient odorant, Crescent Point Energy will either arrange for odorization or provide a replacement tank.
