Flanders, NJ (February 22, 2018) – Forty-five years ago in 1973 Advanced Digital Data® or ADD Systems® began as a one-man operation. Throughout the decades, ADD (Advanced Digital Data) Systems has grown its business from a “one-man show” into a company that today includes four national office locations, a staff of 160 employees serving more than 500 clients throughout the United States and Canada. 
ADD Systems is a provider of a suite of software, hardware, and cloud-based products for back office and mobile software applications to help companies in the propane, heating oil, HVAC, wholesale petroleum, lubricants distribution, and convenience store industries manage all aspects of their organizations from accounting to inventory to service and delivery.
The company’s genesis includes many interesting paths as well as an array of coincidences. Bruce A. Bott’s initial connection to the energy distribution industry dates back some 10 years prior to the incorporation of ADD Systems, in the early 1960s, when Bruce drove an oil truck for Bill Dixon (Dixon Brothers Fuel) during his winter breaks from college. After obtaining a degree in civil engineering from Lehigh University, Bott took a job building paper mills in the Carolinas and then moved on to building nuclear submarines in Groton, Connecticut, for Electric Boat. He also obtained his MBA, was a programmer, and a private pilot. Fast forward to the fall of 1972, and a cup of coffee with his old employer Bill Dixon, where the discussion turned to the need to automate Dixon’s fuel business, and the idea of going into business took shape.
Today, ADD Systems attributes much of its 45 years of success to the unique partnership it has with its clients. When Bott Sr. started ADD Systems he based the company on his three core principles—be honest, be fair, and treat others as you would expect to be treated. Although technological advances have revolutionized the way we live and do business today, the guiding principles Bott set forth continue to be the pillars for further success, notes son, Bruce C. Bott, who assumed the torch from his father in 2010 as president. Both generations of Botts’ emphasize how thankful ADD Systems is for the support from its clients, its talented and many dedicated employees. This multigenerational family business looks forward to continuing these strong relationships for decades to come.
