(Chicago, Ill.) August 2, 2017 — CC Propane Company, a privately owned company based in Wapakoneta, Ohio, has been purchased by Chicago, Illinois-based Energy Distribution Partners (EDP). CC Propane provides propane and propane equipment to residential, commercial, and agricultural customers across West Central Ohio.
Tom Knauff, Energy Distribution Partners CEO, stated, “We are pleased to welcome CC Propane to the EDP family of companies. The addition of CC Propane brings the number of EDP-owned operations in Ohio to five, expanding our presence in the state. The company will retain its name and local decision-making for customers, a strategy EDP follows with each transaction.”
Jay and Shelli Sweede have owned CC Propane since 2005. With a combined 58 years’ experience in the propane industry, the Sweedes have been committed to providing their customers with exceptional service. “After long careers in the propane industry, the time was right for us to enter a new chapter in our lives,” said Jay Sweede. “Being familiar with many Ohio folks working for EDP and getting to know their corporate team, we feel confident that they are as committed to customer service as Shelli and I have been over the course of our careers. We leave with the confidence of knowing our employees and customers will be well cared for.”
Kelly Starner has been named operations manager and Frank Edwards has been named general manager for the company. Both men have extensive careers in the propane industry.
Energy Distribution Partners pursues a long-term strategy of purchasing successful operations in propane and other fuels and in the midstream energy sector, retaining the brand name, preserving local management, and delegating to leaders in local communities. The acquisition of CC Propane makes this EDP’s 13th transaction.
