According to the Baker Hughes Rig Count, released March 15, the United States rig count is down one from last week at 302, with oil rigs down one to 309, gas rigs were unchanged at 92, and miscellaneous rigs were unchanged at one. 

  • The U.S. rig count is down 390 rigs from last year's count of 792, with oil rigs down 374, gas rigs down 15, and miscellaneous rigs down one.
  • The U.S. offshore rig count is down one to 13, down six year over year.
  • Canada rig count is down 25 from last week to 116, with oil rigs down 22 to 58 and gas rigs down three to 58.
  • Canada rig count is down 59 rigs from last year's count of 175, with oil rigs down 57 and gas rigs down two.
