WASHINGTON (September 27, 2021) – The Propane Education & Research Council (PERC) is offering a new webinar that will allow paratransit fleet owners to hear directly from their peers about why their fleet runs on propane autogas. The webinar, part of PERC’s “Propane Presents Technology Series,” will take place on Thursday, Sept. 30 at 2 p.m. EDT.
During the live webinar, PERC will provide a brief overview of the paratransit market and featured panelists — Colin Messer of Land of Enchantment Clean Cities Coalition, New Mexico; Paul Strobis of Broward County Transit, Florida; and Tim Geibel of the Crawford Area Transportation Authority, Pennsylvania — will discuss why they made the switch to propane autogas and the savings they discovered.
“More than 7,000 paratransit vehicles across the United States already operate with propane autogas because it’s clean, reliable, and can go the distance for these crucial fleets,” said Steve Whaley, PERC’s director of autogas business development. “Plus, as participants will hear from our panel, fleet managers running propane autogas vehicles have lowered their fuel and operating costs, allowing them to get the job done and meet sustainability goals while saving more.”
Propane autogas is a near-zero emissions energy source ideal for medium-duty fleets to significantly reduce emissions. Today’s propane autogas engines are 90% cleaner than any standards mandated by the Environmental Protection Agency. As an affordable and abundant low-carbon energy source, propane autogas allows fleets to accelerate decarbonization today.
