The Propane Education & Research Council (PERC) is offering a $2000 incentive to buyers of Generac’s (Waukesha, Wis.) new propane-powered 15-kw EcoGen standby generator. The generator is the latest product to be included in PERC’s Propane Heat & Power Incentive Program, which encourages construction professionals, homeowners, and businesses to adopt new propane-fueled products for residential and commercial uses.
PERC provided Generac with funding and support for the development of the 15-kw EcoGen, specifically designed and warrantied for use with the wind- or solar-powered alternative-energy systems found in many off-grid homes.
“Because propane is an efficient, low-carbon alternative fuel, it complements the sustainable, environmentally friendly values championed at many off-grid residential sites,” said Bridget Kidd, PERC’s director of residential and commercial programs. “By offering this financial incentive, PERC hopes to help these homeowners obtain reliable backup power that supports their desire for a cleaner environment.”
The Propane Heat & Power Incentive Program provides a financial incentive to qualifying and select participants who purchase and use eligible propane-fueled products such as premium generator sets, combined heat and power systems, hybrid light towers, and mobile generators. In return, participants agree to share their experiences, providing PERC with valuable information to identify training needs and supplement future propane product development.
