The Young Professionals Council (YPC) has officially opened nominations for the 2025 Young Professional of the Year award. The YPC is a business council of the National Propane Gas Association (NPGA) aimed at providing a forum for industry leadership and professional development opportunities for those 40 and under in the propane industry.

According to NPGA, the annual Young Professional of the Year award “recognizes an outstanding young professional who is making an impact — by leading, engaging and achieving at an NPGA member company. The Young Professional of the Year award recipient is recognized for NPGA and community engagement and workplace accomplishments.”

NPGA’s YPC is seeking nominations for the 2025 award, highlighting individuals who are making impactful contributions to the propane industry. A new recipient will be named each year, joining an exclusive group of young leaders making a difference.

The Young Professional of the Year recipient will be announced at the NPGA Southeastern Convention & International Propane Expo in April 2025. The 2025 nomination period will run from Dec. 1, 2024, through Feb. 15, 2025, 11:59 p.m. ET. Click here to access the nomination form.

According to NPGA, the Young Professional of the Year nominations will be evaluated by a panel of YPC members. This panel will select up to four finalists and one winner, for a total of up to five individuals, to be recognized at the Southeastern Expo reception. Each of the finalists will receive a complimentary Expo registration and recognition in NPGA publications and by Butane-Propane News. NPGA requests and strongly encourages the five finalists to attend the Southeastern Expo and participate in the Young Professional of the Year award ceremony. Additionally, for 2025, the winner will receive at travel grant of up to $1,500 to cover Expo attendance and associated participation expenses.

Panel evaluations will be based on the nominee’s involvement in NPGA, professional and personal characteristics, and any other extraordinary attributes such as community involvement and/or volunteer work.
