PARAGOULD, Ark. (Dec. 20, 2024) — J. Hardy Thompson, a local leader in the propane industry, has been elected to serve on the board of directors for the Arkansas Propane Gas Association (APGA). His experience exemplifies leadership and innovation in the propane gas industry while dedicating himself to community service and education.
Thompson currently serves as president of Island Energy, which provides propane gas services to nine counties in northeast Arkansas and southeast Missouri. He also leads Clearstream Liquids, a regional propane wholesale supply and transport company, bringing innovative strategies to the industry.
At the November board meeting, Thompson was voted to represent the member At-Large position on the APGA board of directors.
Thompson holds a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Arkansas State University and brings a technical edge to his businesses. Beyond the workplace, he is a multi-engine rated private pilot, showcasing his passion for continuous learning and skill development.
A dedicated community advocate, Thompson served on the Board of Education for Greene County Tech School District, contributing his expertise to the advancement of local education.
He resides in Paragould with his wife, Wendy, and has four daughters.
