Paul DiLeo Sr., the founder of DiLeo Gas Inc., headquartered in Worcester, Massachusetts, has retired after more than 30 years of service in the propane industry. DiLeo Sr. first started in propane in 1988, when he purchased a small propane delivery route in Worcester, naming it “Paul’s Propane.” Four years later, he officially incorporated DiLeo Gas Inc., which has grown to be one of the largest independent propane retailers in Central Massachusetts. DiLeo Gas is now in its second generation of ownership, as sons Paul Jr. and Harry took over ownership and full-time operation of the business in 2013. DiLeo Sr. attributes the company’s success to its focus on public service, charitable giving and its focus on the safety of customers and employees.
