Baker Hughes Rig Count Increases 7

(April 16, 2021) — The Baker Hughes United States Rig Count is up seven from last week at 439, with oil rigs up seven to 344, gas rigs up one to 94, and miscellaneous rigs down one to one.

• U.S. rig count is down 90 rigs from last year's count of 529, with oil rigs down 94, gas rigs up five and miscellaneous rigs down one.
• The U.S. offshore rig count is up one to 12, down five year over year.
• The Canada rig count is down two from last week to 56, with oil rigs down two to 17, and gas rigs unchanged at 39.
• The Canada rig count is up 26 rigs from last year's count of 26, with oil rigs up 10, and gas rigs up 16.
