According to the latest Baker Hughes Rig Count, released Feb. 19, the United States rig count was unchanged from the previous week at 397. Oil rigs were down one to 305, gas rigs were up one to 91, and miscellaneous rigs were unchanged at one.
 

  • The U.S. rig count was down 394 rigs from last year’s count of 791, with oil rigs down 374, gas rigs down 19, and miscellaneous rigs down one.
  • The U.S. offshore rig count was down one to 16, down six year over year.
  • The Canada rig count was down four from the previous week to 172, Baker Hughes reported. Oil rigs were down one to 100, and gas rigs were down three to 72.
  • The Canada rig count was down 72 rigs from last year’s count of 244, with oil rigs down 69 and gas rigs down three.
