Turner Gas was founded in 1939 by Ivan and George Turner, with the assistance of their father, Roy Turner. Roy Turner’s experience in sales and management for Associated Oil in the 1920s led Ivan and George to pursue owning their own company, which they founded in Bishop, Calif. and where they served the community for more than 50 years. The company’s wholesale propane division has marketed and transported propane and other natural gas liquids throughout the western and central U.S. to and from refiners, gas processors, proprietary terminals, fractionators, large retailers, and other end users.

Family-owned Turner Gas has grown to own, operate, and aggregate a diversified portfolio of midstream and energy logistics assets, becoming a leading independent provider of transportation, marketing, storage, and transloading services for NGLs, LPG, crude oil, chemicals, and other bulk products through its truck fleet and rail terminal infrastructure. In 1996, Turner sold its retail locations in California and Nevada in order to focus on its wholesale propane and other divisions.
