Excel Industries Inc. said Aug. 30 it had entered into an agreement with Metro Lawn for propane conversions of its Hustler turf equipment and BigDog mowers. Metro Lawn, a division of AmeriGas, provides fuel system kits certified by the Environmental Protection Agency and California Air Resources Board for Kawasaki engines.
The Hustler and BigDog conversions will be performed at select dealers where personnel have been trained by Metro Lawn. Engines will retain their full manufacturer’s warranty and will be eligible for a $1000 rebate from the Propane Education & Research Council.
“This program will ensure the customer is fully supported,” said Jim Coker, director of Metro Lawn. “It starts with support and warranty from the manufacturer, proper training and support from the dealer, and having the proper infrastructure and support from [AmeriGas].”
