Crystal Flash Inc., an employee-owned fuel distribution company based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, announced that Brad Gandy has been appointed as the new president and CEO of the company.
An experienced business leader, Gandy will succeed Tom Olive and assume responsibilities upon Olive’s retirement May 31. Olive has been in the role since 2015 and will continue to serve on the company’s board of directors.
“The board recognized how the way Brad values people addresses the immediate need to connect with our employee-owners and customers in a meaningful way. His vision of the future dovetails nicely with our current strategic plan,” said Ken Misiewicz, board chair.
Gandy joins Crystal Flash from Pacific Cycle Inc. where he served as vice president of North American operations since 2020. His 30 years of leadership and operations experience includes a 15-year tenure with Brunswick Corporation’s Bowling & Billiards, as well as various roles spent at Attwood Marine brands, Haworth Inc., Nestlé Waters and Roadway Corporation.
“It has been an honor serving the beneficial owners of team Crystal Flash as we transitioned from family ownership to a successful, free-standing, employee-owned enterprise focused on safely delighting our customers every single day. I am confident Team CF will continue to accelerate along our strategic roadmap under Brad’s stewardship,” added Olive.
Gandy, a native Michigander, shared, “It is an honor to join the employee-owners of Crystal Flash as we strive to build our growing, well-known and trusted brand. We will continue to focus on delighting our more than 30,000 customers and working hard to earn new customers’ trust throughout our service area. It is amazing to join a company that just commemorated its 90th anniversary; I look forward to celebrating many more with our valued customers and employee-owners.”
