The Cavagna Group, manufacturer of equipment and fittings for compressed gases, gas storage and gas control since 1949, recently finalized the acquisition of Bigas, a company specializing in the production of fuel systems technologies (reducers, injectors, control units) for engines powered by LPG as well as CNG. The Cavagna Group was already a 45 percent shareholder in the Florence, Italy-based company.

According to the Cavagna Group, the decision aligned with the company's strategic development strategies, including directly and with increasing interest in the field of engine conversions to propane autogas and compressed natural gas fuel.

The Cavagna Group offers a broad range of products in the field of technologies and systems for the control, regulation and storage of compressed gases. It employs more than 900 people worldwide and consists of nine vertically integrated production companies in Italy, along with nine other companies spread across five continents. Due to the Cavagna Group's wide distribution network, the company now sells its products in more than 140 countries worldwide.

Bigas, founded in 1968 by the Biagiotti family, designs, develops and manufactures fuel components and complete systems for engines powered by LPG and CNG. The Bigas-branded products are known worldwide and will be innovative in its approach to optimizing the use of these fuels in the automotive market.

There has always been synergy between the engineering and production divisions at Bigas and those at the Cavagna Group, including technology and marketing. The Florence, Italy-based plant specializes in designing and manufacturing the entire front kit for converting vehicles with direct or sequential fuel injection systems and naturally aspirated engines.
Bigas is also a strategic partner of Greengear Global Ltd. (the British subsidiary of Cavagna Group) for the supply of the Enerkit product line for the LPG conversion of small engines for the outdoor industry including ride-on mowers, forklifts, snowblowers, sweepers and other small-engine equpipment.
